What is your policy on returning damaged substrate jars?
Damage during shipping is something that Substraight does everything possible to avoid, however, in the case that your jars arrived damaged, we do offer a replacement policy. We simply require a digital photo of the damaged product with a description of the damage (for example: 3 jars cracked upon opening) and we will send you replacements at NO cost to you. We cover shipping, and you do NOT need to send the damaged items back.
In the event of damaged cultivation tools or products, we will offer either an exchange or a money back policy on a case by case basis. Just contact us with concerns!

Why are your jars vacuum sealed?
We feel that is one of the most important parts of offering a quality, and STERILE product. Why go through all the hassle of sterilizing a product only to not protect its sterile condition? When your jars are finished sterilizing, the foil is IMMEDIATELY removed, the lids are immediately wiped down with a 70% alcohol solution to evaporate any moisture left on them after pressure cooking, and they are promptly vacuum sealed to remove any chance of contaminants. Our jars when properly stored, can still be used 6 months later! Try that with our competitors jars!

Why is sterile procedure so important?
This is actually quite a commonly asked question. When it comes to mycology, there are a lot of cards stacked against you in the form of microscopic organisms that can be very difficult to fend off when trying to establish healthy mushroom mycellium. The substrate jars we offer contain quite a bit of nutrients, and other organisms aside from your spore cultures are going to want to compete for that nutrition.
You as the cultivator, need to take as many precautions as possible to limit or eliminate any additional contaminants into the environment so that your grow is successful and you can experience the benefits of your projects.
It's easy to get excited about starting your first grow, or starting a new grow, however patience is key in this hobby, and your attention to detail and strict sterile procedures will be greatly rewarded!

I can't see any spores in my syringe; what gives?
Spores are microscopic, and individually cannot be seen with the naked eye. When you see clumps of spores, that means you are actually looking at thousands in one small spot. Be sure to shake your syringe well, as we guarantee there are thousands of viable spores in each syringe for your viewing pleasure.
